Strategies for addressing climate change must focus on basic science and mathematics, not on wishful thinking.
These dictate that the maximum temperature rise must be less than 0.5degC above baseline. Today, we are at 1.16degC above baseline with an accelerating rate of increase, so the temperature will not stop at the 1.5degC target used by the Conference of the Parties.
